the ice dancers

Have you ever heard the tale of the tiny ice dancers that come out at night and make patterns on your windowpane? Well, this morning I saw them! A tiny troupe of birds and butterflies, ballerinas, acrobats, jumping jesters, unicorns, bunny rabbits, and more!

They were quite shocked at first that I had caught them, but then they continued along on their merry journey; dancing the dawn away...

Renegade Craft Fair - this weekend!

Hi everyone! I apologize for being MIA over these past few weeks, but I promise it's been for good reason. This weekend I am participating in my first ever craft fair: Renegade!

The Renegade Craft Fair is a unique, juried event showcasing 150 local, national, and international artists + crafters. The fair takes place annually in cities across the US, including Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles & San Francisco. At RCF you’ll find all sorts of cool handmade stuff – including jewelry, posters + prints, ceramics, stationery & more.

I have been burning the midnight oil every night this week trying to get everything organized and prepared...sanding/staining wood blocks, mounting photos onto said blocks, building card racks, signing and packaging prints, stamping bags, etc. etc. etc....PHEW!

If you live in or around Chicago, stop by and say hello! The show runs Saturday + Sunday, from 11am - 7pm, at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse in Wicker Park. Free trolleys will be running to and from the show, including a stop at Small Bar where you'll find a weekend-long $3 draft drink special on PBR! Yum! ;o)

I have two weeks' worth of pictures to share, along with photos from this upcoming weekend, so be sure to check back on the blog next week!

xoxo - Kitty.

And there you have it! I wish I had taken a few pix during the actual party...it was crazy in there!! Packed to the brim with family and friends...laughter everywhere. The energy was invigorating, and the event could not have been any more perfect.

Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and support...we couldn't have done it without you!

friends

"They cherish one another’s hopes. They are kind to one another’s dreams." H.D. Thoreau

These beautiful tulips were a surprise from my dear friend Jenni, in celebration of the studio opening. Even though she couldn't be there in person, she was there in spirit...as she always is.

studio opening!

OK OK, so it's not a photo...but I did come up with the design, does that count?? ;o)

Back in August I joined forces with four lovely ladies (and crazy-talented photographers to boot) to create Studio 204, our very own photography studio and gallery space in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. After several months of building, painting, decorating, and wine, we are finally ready to open our doors and welcome our friends and families to the space!

Fresh-brewed beer, acoustic soul/blues, tasty hors d'oeuvres, artwork on display...sounds like a pretty great evening to me.

Music starts at 7PM, hope to see you there! ;oD
