celestial glow

Maybe no one can distinguish which voice
Is god’s voice sounding in a summer dusk
Because he calls with the same rising frequency,
The same rasp and rattling rustle the cicadas use
As they cling to the high leaves in the glowing
Dust of the oaks.

sea green (and a little secret...)
PSST! Today is the last day to vote for your favorite shop over on Paper and Stitch! Paper and Stitch is an online exhibition site chock-full of beautiful, affordable art, and it has been an honor and a pleasure to have my photographs included in the current exhibition. If you have a few moments today, please stop by and give out a few "hearts"...the shop that receives the most will win a little prize! ;o}Happy Friday!

yellow from a distance

"We have almost reached the pond;
You have left your glasses at home on the table
And squint across the field
To the unfolding skunk cabbage.
Farsighted or near, I can’t remember which
But you say it is only yellow you see,
Which from a distance could be daffodils.
But they are different shapes, the bell and the candle,
And I describe to you how they float
On the marsh, like a harbor of lanterns,
Because I want you to see them as I do,
A thousand tiny sails, each distinct,
Each one among the others, each drifting."
