one year later

Can you believe Little T is almost two?! I sure can't.Last year around this time I had just agreed to take his one-year photos, and was terrified. What had once been a lifelong passion for photography had been reduced to just a sometime hobby...a victim of my intense self-doubt.
But when I received Little T's family Christmas card in the mail, and saw a few of my photographs smiling back, something funny happened. I felt proud.
And now here we are, one year later. The self-doubt is still there, and probably always will be, but instead of running away from it like I used to, I'm learning to embrace it. It pushes me to learn more, to practice more, and to reach for the things that I never thought possible before.
So...thank you Little T, thank you H and P, for giving me the push I needed to move forward. I wouldn't be where I am today without it.

little man

Today I had my third photo session with Little B, and I can't get over how much he has grown! He's just on the brink of walking, and you can see the excitement in his eyes. We had such a fun time roaming around the lake and playing in the sand...and that little sailor hat is just too cute for words!!Happy 9 months, Little Man! ;o)

tiny models

Today I had the extreme pleasure of photographing the R family. Look at these little beauties!! Even though it was raining outside, we had such a wonderful time indoors...snuggling with Evo the lab, dancing around in princess dresses, and posing by the windows {to take advantage of all that natural light!} ;o).Thank you so much Mom, Dad, K and D! Can't wait to see you all again soon.

Grad school apps, here I come!
If there is one thing I have learned over the past 28 years, it's that I was meant to work with children in some capacity. I find myself constantly seeking out new opportunities involving children and the arts, and the classroom pictured above was my latest adventure!For the past four months I have been a classroom assistant in two 4th and 6th grade art classes at a local elementary school. Today was my last day, and I probably would have cried like a baby if I wasn't having such a great time {as usual} helping the students along with their latest creations.
I am really going to miss seeing these bright, smiley faces every week. Each and every one of them made my life that much sweeter, and because of them, I have never in my life been more positive that art education is where I was truly meant to be.
{PS: HAHA! I just realized I totally look like a 4th grader. Can you even spot me in there?!}

little b

Today I spent the morning with beautiful little B, and what an eventful morning it was! We played with baby dolls, swung in swings, watched Sesame Street, ate Mum Mums . . . whew! ;o)Thanks to Mom for being so wonderful and creative {the dress B is wearing in the first and second shots is Mom's childhood dress!}. I had so much fun with you both and can't wait to see you again soon!

little g

Today I had the pleasure of photographing little G, who celebrated his 1st birthday a few weeks ago! Thanks to Mommy and Daddy for being so cool, and especially to little G -- what a sweetheart {and future heart breaker...just look at those baby blues!} ;o)
