gate of athena

It's hard to believe that it has already been five years since I studied abroad in Paros, Greece. It seems like just yesterday I was waking up to the bells of The Church of a Hundred Doors and enjoying my daily milopita at the little bakery across from school

This is a picture of the Gate of Athena Archegetis ("Athena the Leader") and was taken while wandering around the Plaka in Athens. I could have explored these winding, ancient streets all day but instead, in an attempt to capture "the perfect shot," ended up waist-down in a giant pit of mud! Scaling a fence, in flip-flops? Next time I'll wear sneakers. ;o)
